Back to PlayGuitarSolos.com For MAC help, please go here EASY SETUP Download the Setup .exe file. Click it to install and take the default options. You will then have an icon on your desktop (or you can find it in your "Start" menu) Read very detailed steps here Questions / Answers When I install it, I am warned about harmful content. Is this ok? Absolutely! Windows now prompts for as much as it can, to make sure this is a process you have initiated yourself, and you know where the files came from.
My screen has no videos or blank boxes instead of the videos You may notice a yellow or white bar near the top of your screen saying your browser has blocked or restricted "scripts from running" or "ActiveX controls", or "Active Content". If you have this, click on it and select "Allow Blocked Content" or something similar.
My downloaded file is corrupt. What should I do? Download it again. You have access to the download for 24 hours from the time of purchase. After that please email tom@playguitarsolos.com and the link(s) can be resent.
Can I make the video bigger? If you are using Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, look in the lower right hand corner of your browser. There is a zoom button (magnifying glass and "%") in the lower right hand corner of your browser. You can increase the size using this. You can try it now, on this page. A great shortcut is to hold 'Ctrl' and press "+" repeatedly to increase the size, and Ctrl "-" to decrease it. It works great with the flash videos and tab, to get the video to just the right size for your resolution.
Does the install affect my computer or it's configuration? Absolutely not! There are NO registry changes or anything like that. There is only a PlayGuitarSolos directory created and some files copied there, and one icon put on your desktop.
Is there an uninstall program? Yes there is. If you look on your "Start" menu and find the PlayGuitarSolos program, you will see an "Uninstall.exe" under it. Or you can simply delete the files under the PlayGuitarSolos directory and delete the icon from your desktop. They both accomplish the same thing, as there are no registry changes or anything like that.
Am I viewing my my download on the internet? No. You are not viewing it on the internet. I only use your browser to play the flash files you have downloaded with the special players, as browsers are perfect programs in which to embed and play flash files.
How do I copy it to a CD or another computer? To put a Windows download on another computer or flash drive, there are 2 options. 1) You can plug in your flash drive and run the setup.exe again. On the second setup screen, change the path to point to your external drive instead of the default C:. For example, if your external flash drive is mapped to "F:" ,just replace the C: in that path to F: You can also get rid of the Program Files subdirectory. So for example, you would change "C:\Program Files\PlayGuitarSolos\Sultans of Swing" to F:\PlayGuitarSolos\Sultans of Swing. One thing to note is that the install will still put an icon on your desktop, pointing to the file on your F drive. You can delete this desktop shortcut. To play the video, just go to F:\PlayGuitarSolos\Sultans of Swing and double-click the html file. It should be named something similar to "Click to Play Sultans ... .html" 2) The other option is just to copy the files themselves that the install program extracts to. So, using Windows Explorer just go to C:\Program Files\PlayGuitarSolos and copy the entire "Sultans of Swing" directory (and subdirectories) to another computer somewhere. Then you just go to this directory and click the "Click to Play Sultans of Swing.html" file. How come I'm getting the "allow blocked content" question when I play the video with Internet Explorer, if all the files are local? Even though this program is entirely on your computer, I make use of the web browser (Internet Explorer program) to display it. As a result, IE is trying to block content in case it is from a non-trustworthy source. The browser security does not differentiate between whether this content is on the web or not. It only knows that to play active content video it needs to warn you. I believe you can change the security setting in your browser to eliminate this. You may be able to specify just my programs and not others. If not, you should just have to click "Allow Active Content" once each time you open the program.Detailed Download Steps for Windows machines. 1) When you get to the download page, click on the link. It will bring up another link. Then click on that link. It will ask you to RUN SAVE or CANCEL. Be SURE to select SAVE. Pick a location on your PC. The DESKTOP is the best, but any directory will do. 2) AFTER the download is totally complete, go find the file you downloaded. It will be called something like Setup.exe (LedZed_Setup.exe for example) Double click this file. You will go through the install screens. Select 'next' all the way through, taking the default options. It will probably say a directory doesn't exist, do you want to create it? Say 'YES'. When you finally get to the last screen, you will have an Exit button. Click this to close the setup program.
